The LR Green Play Club is an kid-run club that promotes free, unstructured, and independent play among elementary children of all ages. Thursdays after school from 12:30-2pm starting in January. Parents NOT allowed!
Benefits inlclude:
A more supportive and inclusive school culture where kids get to solve their own problems without adult interference
An environment where both younger kids and older kids play together - allowing for older kids to develop responsibility, leadership and empathy, and younger kids to learn executive function while trying to emulate the older kids

How big will the club be?
How big will the club be?
Depending on interest and parent supervisors, we hope to grow this club to include anyone that wishes to participate! However, we will be starting with a smaller group of around 30 kids (and 2 parent supervisors).
Who is allowed to join the club?

Any student at LR Green is encouraged to join, from TK to 5th grade!
Does anyone get preference?
Does anyone get preference?
Preference may be given to children with parents/caregivers willing to supervise the club, as well as to siblings of children chosen for the club.

No! Kids at all ages in one play group is a KEY component of the Let Grow Play Club. Students of diverse ages allows for older kids to develop responsibility, leadership and empathy, and younger kids to learn executive function while trying to emulate the older kids.

No - if your child is selected to be in Play Club, they are expected to be there weekly unless they have an excused absence, just like with any other after school enrichment class.

The Let Grow Play Club will begin Thursday, January 22nd and run through the remainder of the school year. It will be held every Thursday from 12:25pm to 2pm.

The Let Grow Play Club will be held on the school blacktop and field next to the cafeteria. Alternate arrangements may be made for inclement weather.

Sign up HERE to submit interest in your child attending the Let Grow Play Club! Interest forms due by 4pm on Friday, January 16. Notifications will be sent out Monday, January 19th for club status, and waivers will be sent home with your students.
